At The End Of The Day
At the end of the day with the sun setting over the ranch,
I like to sit on the porch and reflect on the day,
I can hear the cattle settling down for the night all contented,
a mare quietly neighing to it's foal,
there's a rustling in the bushes,
probably an Armadillo or Possum looking for it's nightly meal .......
Howdy, Glad you could come and visit for a while,
pull up a chair and join me.
You know when I was a boy ...................
Hey, you don't want to hear me rambling on .....................
You know I'm thinking we should give thanks to him for another day.
Let's remember everyone in the world that's not so lucky as we are,
the hungry, the homeless, the sick,
let's pray that tomorrow they will have food on their plate,
a roof over their head and a bed to sleep in,
let's pray the sick can have the health care
they need to make them better,
let's pray for a better world
where everyone is taken care of.
